What's Your Super Power In Business With Macy Robison

What’s Your Superpower in Business

More than a thousand people have taken Macy Robison‘s archetype assessment. I took it right before we recorded. Digital learning architect, 45%. Anything above 30% is a signal strong enough to design a business around, so mine sat 15 points clear of the line.

Your business superpower is measurable. You do not have to guess at it or wait for a branding session to hand it to you.

Most coaches I talk to are exhausted from trying to be louder than everyone else. They post five times a day because the person they follow does, then wonder why growth feels like shoving a boulder uphill.

Volume is the wrong lever

Macy spent ten years building platforms for authors and experts before building her own. She watched capable people burn out competing against creators who have full teams behind them.

Her fix comes from music. Opera singers do not use microphones. They shape their voice to fit the singer’s format, a narrow band where the human voice carries efficiently and the orchestra happens to produce less sound. They never out-volume the orchestra. Instead, they occupy the space it leaves open.

Your business superpower works the same way. There is a gap where your ideas land with exactly the right person, and precision gets you into it faster than volume ever will.

What is common does not mean it is right for you. Posting three to five times a day is common. It is wrong for me, and I can feel that in my bones.

What the assessment showed about my business superpower

The quiz measures ten archetypes and returns your top five, each marked strong, medium, or light.

Digital learning architect at 45 percent: I guide transformation through structured experience rather than by transmitting information. Visual thought architect landed within two points, the archetype that has to draw something before it knows what it thinks. Principled practitioner sat at 22 percent, because I test everything on myself before recommending it. Experience facilitator came fourth.

Macy called the top two duet partners. My students will tell you the iPad and the Paper app come out in nearly every session. As a teacher I built visual structures so teenagers could hang the learning on something, and their tests came back with my frameworks redrawn in the margins.

One correction matters more than the labels. Digital learning architect does not obligate me to build a course. The archetype describes how I generate ideas, while delivery format stays a separate decision.

Reading the label from inside the jar

Macy flew to San Diego to build a course inside an Amy Porterfield event, alongside about ninety-nine other people. Her idea was solid, and the teaching was excellent. Still, she could not get the ink out of the pen. Eventually she gave up, sat down back to back with Amy’s curriculum director, and spent the rest of the event helping other people with their messaging.

Her conclusion: she could have written it if she had taught it live to one human first, because she needed to watch a face change before she knew what was worth keeping. This is why I teach monetizing as you build.

Your action steps

This week: take the archetype assessment and write down your top three results with their raw percentages.

This month: audit one recurring task against your top archetype. If you talk ideas out, stop typing social posts from a blank page. Speak them into a voice app first, then edit.

This quarter: pick one piece of advice you give clients constantly and check whether you follow it yourself.
