How to Create a Visibility Plan + Retreat 2025 Deets
“Your people need what you have to offer, but they can’t find you if you’re hiding.”
Are you that “hidden gem” coach who knows you could help more people if only they knew you existed? Do you break into a cold sweat at the thought of pitching yourself or putting your face on camera?
In this episode, I’m tackling the #1 reason 87% of coaches fail in their first two years: lack of visibility.
Whether you’re terrified of judgment, overwhelmed by too many platforms, or just don’t know where to start, I’m revealing my four visibility archetypes to help you discover the visibility strategy that will feel natural and exciting (not draining and scary).

Why Your Coaching Business Needs a Strategic Visibility Plan
Here’s the hard truth: Being an amazing coach means nothing if no one knows you exist.
The key to growth isn’t just delivering great results—it’s getting more eyeballs on your work. But most coaches either:
- Try to copy what’s working for someone else (even if it doesn’t fit their personality)
- Exhaust themselves trying to be everywhere at once
- Get paralyzed by the fear of judgment or rejection
I spent 47 minutes (yes, really) hovering over my first podcast pitch email before finally hitting send. Today, podcast guesting is my #1 client acquisition strategy and has transformed my business.
In this episode, I break down exactly how to find YOUR perfect visibility strategy—one that feels energizing, not draining.
The Four Visibility Archetypes for Your Personal Visibility Plan
1. The Intimate Connector
This is you if: You thrive in deep one-on-one connections and feel drained by large groups.
Your natural visibility strengths:
- Personal outreach and DM conversations
- Small, intimate workshops
- Coffee chats and 1:1 networking
- Podcast guesting (deep conversations broadcast to many)
Your motto: “I’d rather go deep with one person than shallow with many.”
2. The Inspirational Teacher
This is you if: You love educating and breaking down complex concepts for others.
Your natural visibility strengths:
- Teaching workshops in small-to-medium sized rooms
- Podcast guesting where you can share expertise
- Webinars and masterclasses
- Speaking at events where you can teach (not just inspire)
Your motto: “I light up when I help someone understand something new.”
3. The Community Builder
This is you if: You’re energized by bringing people together and creating connections.
Your natural visibility strengths:
- Networking events (you attend many!)
- Facebook groups or other online communities
- Conferences and large events
- Collaborative projects with other experts
Your motto: “The magic happens when the right people connect.”
4. The Creative StorytellerÂ
This is you if: You shine through telling emotionally engaging stories.
Your natural visibility strengths:
- Guest blogging and writing for publications
- Co-authoring books or resources
- Creating narrative-driven content
- Sharing vulnerable stories on podcasts
Your motto: “A story can change someone’s life in ways advice never could.”
My 4-Layer Approach to Developing Your Visibility Plan
Once you’ve identified your visibility archetype, it’s time to create a strategic plan:
Layer 1: Selecting the Right Platform for Your Visibility Plan
Choose 1-2 visibility methods that align with your archetype. Don’t try to be everywhere!
For example: If you’re an Intimate Connector, focus on podcast pitching and small workshops rather than large speaking events.
Layer 2: Defining Your Core Message Within Your Visibility Plan
Identify 2-3 core talking points or themes that:
- You’re deeply passionate about
- Aren’t what everyone else is saying
- Solve a specific problem for your ideal clients
Layer 3: Developing a Pitching Strategy for Your Visibility Plan
This isn’t just sending random emails! Create a relationship-building approach that includes:
- Warming up potential hosts or publications
- Engaging with their content before pitching
- Crafting personalized, value-focused pitches
Pro Tip: Start with the “low-hanging fruit” in your network before cold pitching.
Layer 4: Creating Consistency in Your Visibility Plan
The magic is in the consistency! Create a weekly rhythm such as:
- Pitching 2 podcasts every week
- Submitting to 1 publication monthly
- Attending 2 networking events per month
Remember: This isn’t a “one and done” strategy—it’s a visibility MACHINE.
The Biggest Visibility Mistakes Coaches Make
Mistake #1: Trying to Be EverywhereÂ
You don’t need to be on every platform. Choose what aligns with your strengths and double down.
Mistake #2: Perfectionism ParalysisÂ
I share my embarrassing story of pitching a big podcast incorrectly—and how the host actually appreciated my follow-up more than if I’d been “perfect” the first time.
Mistake #3: No Long-Term Strategy
Pitching 5 podcasts once and then stopping won’t get results. Consistency over months is what builds momentum.
Take Action Today: Your First Step Toward Visibility
- Identify your visibility archetype from the four I’ve shared
- Choose ONE platform to focus on first
- Create 2-3 core talking points that showcase your expertise
- Make a commitment to consistent outreach (even 30 minutes weekly)
