What Type Of Coaching Model Makes Sense For You

Ready to transform your passion for beauty and styling into a thriving coaching business?

Launching a coaching business in a specialized niche like beauty and styling involves navigating multiple challenges—from course creation to managing time effectively.

In this live coaching episode, I had the pleasure of coaching Alyssa, a talented stylist transitioning into the role of a business coach.

We explored the unique challenges and opportunities that come with this shift, focusing on three key areas:

  • Delegation

We discussed the importance of delegating tasks that aren’t in your zone of genius, allowing you to focus on your core strengths and passions. This is especially crucial when juggling multiple roles and responsibilities.

  • Client Feedback

I emphasized the power of gathering direct feedback from your clients to shape your coaching programs and offerings. Don’t assume you know what they want – ask them!

  • Signature Coaching Framework

We delved into the significance of creating a clear, structured framework for your coaching program. This not only provides a clear path for your clients but also makes your business scalable and easier to manage.

One-to-One vs Group Coaching

A recurring question I often hear in the coaching industry is whether to focus on one-to-one coaching, group sessions, or building comprehensive courses. My conversation with Alyssa highlighted the importance of understanding where your client’s needs intersect with your strengths and resources.

I suggested to Alyssa that she start simple, as she likely already has more than enough content to get started. The key is to get people into her program so they can experience the process and provide feedback. This will help her ensure she has a clear framework in place.

I also advised Alyssa to determine what her audience truly desires. While one-to-one coaching allows for a personalized touch, group coaching and courses can provide broader, scalable solutions. By starting small and focusing on her most transformative and immediately actionable content, Alyssa can build her courses based on real feedback instead of perceived needs.

Embracing Delegation for Business Growth

Time management is a universal struggle for entrepreneurs, especially when operating multiple businesses. I, like Alyssa, juggle a busy salon and a bridal business, making it challenging to dedicate time for course creation. To overcome this obstacle, I’ve learned to embrace delegation.

As I always say, “When time is that factor, what we have to do is really settle into that CEO role of asking ourselves, like, yes, it’s an investment in money and allocation of funds to have somebody else do some of that work, but we’re going to get there way faster.”

Identifying tasks that can be delegated allows me to focus my energy on core functions that directly require my expertise. Delegating administrative responsibilities or technical setup tasks to specialists can significantly relieve my workload. For instance, hiring a System IO expert to handle the tech setup has enabled me to concentrate on content creation and engagement with my clients.

The Significance of a Signature Coaching Framework

In my experience, a clear, signature coaching framework is essential for elevating a coach’s authority and providing a structured path for clients. I emphasized to Alyssa the significance of crafting a unique methodology that only she can offer. This framework becomes the cornerstone of her brand, ensuring consistency in client outcomes. Whether coaching new stylists or seasoned salon owners, a structured sequence of steps provides clarity and predictability, making the program easier to market and scale.

Creating this framework involves distilling Alyssa’s professional journey and successes into actionable modules. Defining clear steps for building a client base, leadership development, and navigating freelance styling offers a comprehensive package. The evolution from stylist to CEO can thus be systematically taught, reinforcing Alyssa’s unique value proposition in the beauty coaching industry.

By focusing on delegation, understanding her clients’ needs through direct feedback, and developing a clear coaching framework, Alyssa is on the cusp of a significant business transformation. Embracing these strategies will not only streamline her processes but also ensure a scalable and impactful coaching business.

Connecting Alyssa’s journey with broader themes, there’s a clear roadmap for aspiring coaches in any niche. Understanding the balance between personalized coaching and scalable models, effectively delegating tasks, and creating a unique, results-driven framework are universal steps toward achieving business success.
