Why AI Is Blowing My Mind {Don’t Get Left Behind}

Why AI Is Blowing My Mind {Don't Get Left Behind}

“If you’re not leveraging AI for coaches, I think you could be left behind while your competitors get 3-10 times more done in the same amount of time.”

I have a confession: I was completely resistant to AI for coaches. The whole thing creeped me out, and I was determined to be the business that stayed “authentically human” without any AI help.

But after witnessing what’s possible with the right AI implementation for coaches, I’m now saving 2-4 hours per week in my business – and my mind is officially blown.

In this episode, I’m sharing my complete journey from AI skeptic to AI collaborator, including the exact tools and strategies I use to amplify (not replace) my authentic voice. Furthermore, if you’re still on the fence about AI for coaches, this episode will show you exactly how to get started without losing your unique personality.

My AI Resistance Story (And Why It Changed)

Initially, I was rolling my eyes at AI for coaches. Additionally, I felt frustrated seeing obviously AI-generated content on social media, and I worried that AI would strip away my authentic voice. Moreover, after watching Mission Impossible, I was convinced AI was going to take over the world! 😅

However, everything changed when I attended a mastermind panel specifically about AI implementation. Instead of hearing about AI replacing coaches, these panelists shared how they used AI as collaborative specialists in their businesses. Consequently, I walked out thinking: “Am I holding myself back by resisting this?”

The 3 Biggest AI Mistakes Coaches Make

Before diving into what works, let me share the common AI mistakes I see (and made myself):

Mistake #1: Using AI Like a Fire Drill

Most coaches use AI reactively – only when they’re stuck or panicked. Unfortunately, this leads to generic inputs and generic outputs because you haven’t built a relationship with the tool.

Mistake #2: AI as Complete Replacement

Many coaches try to use AI to replace their voice instead of enhance it completely. However, this approach strips away your uniqueness – the very thing that attracts your ideal clients.

Mistake #3: One-Size-Fits-All Approach

Finally, most coaches haven’t customized or trained their AI tools. Therefore, they get vanilla, generic responses instead of content that sounds like them.

My 2-Week AI Testing Experiment for Coaches

Rather than jumping on the ChatGPT bandwagon, I decided to test three different LLMs (Large Language Models) to find the best AI for coaches like me:

The Three Platforms I Tested:

  1. ChatGPT – Most popular and common among my clients
  2. Gemini – Google’s AI with seamless Google Drive integration
  3. Claude – Recommended by a mentor for maintaining an authentic voice

My Testing Process:

For two weeks, I built relationships with each platform. Specifically, I would take walks or wait during my kids’ practices and simply ask each AI to get to know me better. Additionally, I gave them inputs and analyzed their outputs to see which felt most like “me.”

The Winner: Claude became the clear choice because it captured my blend of directness and softness – my authentic voice with personality and humanness.

The Game-Changer: AI Specialists for Coaches

Here’s where AI for coaches gets exciting: creating specialized AI assistants for different business functions.

My 5 AI Specialists:

  1. Amanda’s KPI Analyzer – Analyzes business data and workshops improvement ideas
  2. Funnel Optimizer – Reviews and optimizes my client attraction systems
  3. Ad Strategist – Writes, optimizes, and strategizes Facebook ads
  4. Content Creator – Develops podcast outlines, social content, and newsletters
  5. PR Machine – Handles media outreach and visibility strategies

The Secret: Uploading Knowledge to Each Specialist

Furthermore, here’s what makes these AI specialists incredibly powerful – I upload specific knowledge to each one:

For My Content Creator:

  • Brand guide and voice guide
  • Hundreds of client testimonials
  • Newsletter samples
  • Podcast transcripts
  • Previous ads and freebies
  • Webinar transcripts

For My Ad Strategist:

  • Brand and voice guides
  • Sample ads I’ve written
  • Relevant podcast transcripts
  • Client testimonials

This means when I ask for content, the AI already understands my voice, my clients, and my business model.

The Golden Rule of AI for Coaches: Great Input = Great Output

The biggest breakthrough in my AI journey was understanding this principle: Your output is only as good as your input.

How to Give AI Great Input:

  • Upload transcripts from your coaching sessions
  • Share your framework and methodologies
  • Include your social media content
  • Add client testimonials and case studies
  • Explain your business model and ideal client
  • Share personal details that inform your voice

Privacy Note:

Additionally, most AI platforms allow you to disable data sharing if you’re concerned about proprietary information. Consequently, you can customize your privacy settings while still training your AI effectively.

My Favorite AI Workflow for Coaches

Here’s my go-to process for creating content with AI:

  1. Use the mobile app (Claude doesn’t have desktop microphone features)
  2. Talk while walking or during kids’ activities
  3. Ramble for 3-4 minutes about my topic idea
  4. Let AI organize my thoughts into structured outlines
  5. Refine and customize the output to match my exact needs

Real Example: Last week, I batched two months of podcast outlines in two hours while at my son’s football camp. That same work would have taken me six hours at my desk!

Crafting Better AI Prompts for Coaches

Instead of generic requests like “Write a social media post,” try this approach:

Better Prompt Example: “I want you to act like a top-downloaded podcast creator and highly engaging speaker. Help me craft an outline for a podcast that will engage and excite my listeners about AI. Include [specific points you want covered].”

Additionally, always give your AI context about:

  • Your role/expertise
  • Your audience
  • Your desired outcome
  • Your specific requirements

Why AI Collaboration Beats AI Replacement

Effective AI for coaches isn’t about replacement – it’s about collaboration. Instead of losing your authentic voice, you’re amplifying it by:

  • Creating more content in less time
  • Organizing your thoughts more effectively
  • Testing different approaches quickly
  • Focusing on high-value activities like client coaching

The Truth About AI and Your Competition

Here’s my honest assessment: Coaches who resist AI may find themselves left behind. While you’re struggling to keep up, your competitors might be getting 3-10 times more done in the same timeframe.

However, this doesn’t mean becoming robotic or generic. Rather, it means becoming a more efficient and effective version of yourself.

Getting Started with AI for Coaches

Ready to begin your AI journey? Here’s my recommended approach:

Step 1: Choose Your Platform

Test multiple options (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to find what feels most like your voice.

Step 2: Build the Relationship

Spend time “training” your chosen AI by sharing your content, voice, and business details.

Step 3: Create Specialists

Set up different AI assistants for various business functions.

Step 4: Start Small

Begin with one area (like content creation) before expanding to other business functions.
