“Self Doubt is proof of your humanity, not your inadequacy” -Tanya Geisler
With Imposter Syndrome, some of the common thoughts are:
- I don’t know enough.
- I don’t have it all figured out.
- I don’t have all my shit together.
- I am not certified.
- I don’t have enough experience.
- They will find out I am a fraud.
You are in the right place. I see you. I have been there.
So, what exactly is imposter syndrome?
“When you are directly or indirectly told your whole life that you are less than or undeserving of success and you begin to achieve things in a way that goes against a long-standing narrative in the mind, Imposter Syndrome will occur.”
So how do I overcome it?
Show how one of those thoughts impacts results.
Q to ask: Is It True–keep questioning your mind.
If you have that fear, that’s a GOOD thing, because it means that you actually care about the work you’re doing and about helping people.
Once you realize the real reason, you can deal with this fear much more easily.
Why wouldn’t someone work with you to get the results they want?
Be congruent. Follow through on yourself
Action is critical–you won’t rewire the mind if you don’t do the damn thing!
