The Coaching Industry (00:02 – 02:18)

Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of chatter in the coaching world. Coaches everywhere seem to be asking themselves, “What new modality or certification should I add to my toolkit?” And honestly, my answer to that is often, “Not so fast.” Adding new tools isn’t always the answer.

The Power of Internal Feedback (02:18 – 04:42)

Let me take you back to my teaching days. I was teaching high school biology, and let me tell you, it was intense. But I realized something crucial. I couldn’t solely rely on external feedback. So, I started this practice of self-reflection after every class, asking myself questions and making instant improvements.

Emotions in Coaching (04:42 – 06:50)

Coaching isn’t all rainbows and sunshine. There are days when you walk away feeling like a rock star, and then there are those days when you doubt yourself. But guess what? That’s a sign you care deeply about what you do, and it’s what makes you great.

The Three-Minute Coaching Practice (06:50 – 13:47)

Alright, it’s time for the main event—the three-minute coaching practice that will supercharge your skills.

  1. First, grab a piece of paper or open a document and just spill out everything from your day. Get it all out there, no judgment.
  2. Next, sort through it. Are those thoughts or facts? This helps you maintain a neutral perspective. No judgments, just observations.
  3. Finally, ask yourself two questions: What went really well today in your coaching sessions? And what’s one area where you can improve or grow? These questions are game-changers.

Tune into the show for a deeper dive into each step of this process.

Timing of the Practice (13:47 – 16:10)

So, when’s the best time to do this practice? I’d recommend doing it at the end of your coaching day. You’ll have a chance to unwind, reflect, and set yourself up for more intentional, impactful coaching.

Take Action

I challenge you to make this practice a part of your daily routine. It’s about modeling what we expect from our clients and becoming the best coaches we can be.

Heya, I’m Amanda!

Coaching changed my life.

Coaching is in my blood. I became a coach for the 1st time at 15 when I coached 4-5 year old boys in a pee-wee basketball league. I then coached the hardest crowd ever as a high school teacher and coach, then added to my coaching resume Level 1 CrossFit Coach, Precision Nutrition Coach, and now Certified Master Life Coach, NLP and hypnotherapy practitioner. I have combined my 25 years of coaching into this program to help you become a better coach.
